After their debut concert in November 2024, Sabilulungan Family returned to present “Indonesia in
Aotearoa: A Cultural Journey” as a form of appreciation for the recognition of Indonesian culture by
the Auckland Council, and for the opportunity to participate in the World of Culture program.
Indonesia in Aotearoa – A Cultural Journey was held on Saturday, 28 March 2026, at the Bruce
Ritchie Performing Arts Centre, Massey in Auckland.

The event was attended by hundreds of spectators, including the Indonesian Ambassador to New
Zealand, Mrs. Fientje Maritje Suebu, as well as three members of the New Zealand Parliament:
Cameron Brewer, Carlos Cheung, and Helen White.
The concert was lively and vibrant, featuring traditional Indonesian songs as well as popular New
Zealand songs, all performed beautifully. Elegant Indonesian traditional dances added warmth to
the atmosphere. The entire audience also participated in an interactive angklung session,
experiencing how to play the instrument together.

After the concert, the audience was pleasantly surprised with Bakso, an Indonesian street food,
served for everyone to enjoy. It was truly a memorable afternoon for all who attended the event.
